Anne-Sophie Castelnau has been appointed as ING’s Global Head of Sustainability from 1 April 2021, with the mission to further develop the overall sustainability direction of ING, reporting to the Head of ING Wholesale Banking in his role within the MBB. Anne-Sophie brings a long experience in Wholesale Banking and a strong interest in sustainability to this role.
After joining ING WB in France in 2005, she held a number of senior positions, including those of Head of Corporate Lending and Head of Client Coverage, growing the franchise locally and globally, positioning ING as the first international (non French) bank of large French corporates and leveraging from the specificities of the ING WB network (Benelux & CEE).
Since becoming Head of ING Wholesale Banking in France in 2017, she has been involved in bringing some 25 sustainability deals to fruition, including the first bilateral Sustainability Improvement Loan in Europe for French power generator EDF in 2017, and has actively contributed to make ING a champion in sustainable finance in the French market, differentiating from competition through it.
Since July 2020, Anne-Sophie is also Non Executive Board member for ING Belgium.
Her previous experiences encompass risk and commercial roles at French banks CIC and Natixis/BPCE group in Paris. She holds a master degree in management from EDHEC, top 5 French “grande école”.
Anne-Sophie is very much interested in wine-tasting, broadening her knowledge through theoretical & practical trainings and likes sharing this hobby with friends & teams.
